The conference was held during August 12 – 14, 2004 at Sheraton Imperial Hotel, Research Triangle Park, NC. There were 315 registered attendees at the conference. [8]. Over 150 papers and talks were presented and the rooms packed as the visitors were confined largely within the meeting site. As the conference was held outside the home base (D.C.) of the president (Sung Won Lee), much of the work was performed by the NC Chapter members and student volunteers at NC State and UNC Chapel Hill. Professors Ki-Hyun Kim (NC Central), Moon Won Suh (NC State) and Heakyoung Lee (Winthrop) contributed much to the management of the daily activities. Of significance was the large number of attendees, especially the top managers from Korea, as the R&D Forum was organized by Moon Won Suh inviting the key R&D managers and specialists in the RTP area and NC State University. The conference was divided into 5 major symposiums; Aerospace Science and technology, Bio Science and technology, Information and Communication technology, Nanostructure Science and Technology, Robotics Technology.
