In November 1991, the 20th KSEA president, Dr. Moo Young Han, organized a conference to commemorate KSEA’s 20th founding anniversary by inviting several speakers from Korea. The 1992 KSEA Letters [2] reported that 240 people, including 50 KSEA councilors, attended the conference held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott near National Airport, with funds obtained from KOFST, the Korean Science Foundation, and several corporations.
Former KSEA presidents and invited guests attended this meeting. There were no scientific papers presented, except for several plenary talks on the state of affairs in Korea. Mr. Jin-Hyun Kim, Minister of Science and Technology, was one of the invited speakers. This special conference did not contain much technical substance and did not resemble the UKC format; however, it was included as the 6th UKC by the January 2018 KSEA Midterm Council Meeting.
