“KSEA 25th Anniversary Technical Conference” – McLean, VA
The meetings were held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in McLean, VA, during February 22–23, 1997. They were not held during the usual summer meeting time in 1996 as originally planned, due to the opening ceremony of the KUSCO Center. Approximately 300 people attended the conference, many of whom were young scientists and graduate students from across the United States. The name of the conference was changed to the KSEA 25th Anniversary Technical Conference, departing from the previous format of two annual conferences. Dr. KunMo Chung, Vice Minister Bushik Lee of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Kwan Lim (Samsung R&D), Anne Solomon (U.S. State Department), and others attended the conference. Attendance was relatively low due to the season and weather conditions.
